Amina Muaddi Is That Girl, Sis.

Image
Happy Sunday Fashion Lovers, I hope that you are doing well and staying safe wherever you are. I pray that our world heals from what going on right now. I learned from all that is going on is that we need to love one another and embrace our differences.   Amina Muaddi is a new shoe designer that everyone has become one of the sought after for all fashion bloggers and lover alike. I was introduced to her by watching one of my favorite luxury fashion vloggers, Erica's Girly World and she was looking at her shoes, what is really made me what to learn more about Amina Muaddi shoes was the structural heel and the different types of designs that she has done. Growing up between Jordan, Romania, and Italy, Amina developed an eye for what taste-makers around the world truly want – that perfect blend of effortless glamour, impeccable craftsmanship, and fashion-forward style. Something new and fresh, with its roots in timeless quality. After she studied at the European Institute of...

I Can Have My Cake Beauty And Eat It Too

Image
Happy Thursday fellow beauty lovers, I hope that you all are doing well and staying safe in our world right now. I hope that we all take the time to take care of ourselves during and after the pandemic is over and gone.  As a beauty blogger and a consumer, I try my best to see what's in the products that I use in my everyday life. I didn't really understand the power of knowing what's in the products that I use, the mind frame I  now think is this, will this do me good or will this product make my skin react and not in a good way. It seems that beauty companies don't think about their consumers and just in the beauty business to make millions of dollars without looking into the research of each component of their products which is upsetting but I guess that's how the beauty industry works.  Last weekend, I was on my Instagram and I notice this beauty brand that I've never heard before. So I decided to look into this brand and when I did so, I was so impressed wi...

On My Fashion Wishlist: The Brahmin Large Duxbury Satchel Melbourne

Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope that you all are doing well and staying safe in our "New Normal". For me, I'm trying to be as positive as possible but some days, it feels that we are going down a hole of darkness and despair and I'll be honest, it stresses me out sometimes. But I know that I have to adjust to this new normal and just try to stay as positive as possible. I said this in a previous blog post, I really appreciate the quality of a great handbag. I know that getting a quality handbag is very expensive but it all worth it when you see it in your closet years later and it looks as good as the day you brought it. I have a few designer bags that were given to me from my aunt and I try my best to keep them in tip-top shape because when someone gives you something especially a designer bag you need to keep them intact and put them away in their dust bags to protect them. Now if you lovely people have not heard of Brahmin (Girl, what fashion rock have you been un...

On My Fashion Wishlist: Hammitt Los Angeles

Image
Happy Tuesday to all of my fellow fashion lovers. I hope that all of you had a safe Memorial Day and you all you were. I'm glad that I can be here with you and we can all talk about the thing that we love and take our minds off of this and spread love and positive vibes to each other. As I have gotten older, I really appreciate the quality of a great handbag. I don't have a lot of money, yet but I'm learning that quality over quantity will always hold it's weight in the fashion world. I want to look in my closet and see that I invested well in the handbags that I'll buy in the future because let's be honest, NO ONE LIKES WASTING MONEY. I've been a fan of Hammitt Los Angeles handbags for the absolute time. I remember seeing them in a boutique in Charleston South Carolina and I went to do some research about this brand. Hammitt was created with radically redesigning the contemporary handbag experience. A small team of beach dwellers began carving out a new, cu...

Wearing Many Shades Of Blue

Image
Happy Sunday fashion lovers and welcome back to my blog. I hope that you are doing well and trying to stay safe and wear your favorite fashion items today. I learned during this uncertain time in our world we need to wear our favorite pieces to make ourselves feel better and not to stay in sweats all of the time. I know that we are living in our sweats at the moment, but we need to break out of that habit now. As we all know, the Color Of The Year is Classic Blue but I've always felt that the color Blue is always in Fashion, but there is a color of blue that is being slept on at the moment, and that color is Robin Blue. Robin Blue and Spring go so well together because when I was a little girl, I saw a robin's egg in a tree and the color stays with me ever since, for my entire life.  M y mother owns a blazer in the same color and a pair of pumps in her closet. I feel that this color is such a ladylike color that looks great on every skin tone and I really hope that you all will...

Can I Borrow Your White Makeup

Image
Hello beautiful people and beauty lovers alike and Happy Thursday to you all, I hope that you all are doing well and trying to get through another day of "The New Normal. If anything that I learned is to take better care of myself and I hope that after this pandemic passes, you will learn to take better of yourselves.  Now we all love our black and brown makeup, but what if I tell you that you can wear white. I know for all of you, white makeup scares you but it gives you eyes a more of a wider and awake look. While I was looking into the May issue of Elle Magazine, I've seen that white was going to be a makeup statement for the Spring. Makeup just like fashion is such an expression of who we are as people, I love looking at how people get their makeup look no matter how complex it looks,  all of us being beauty lovers/consumers and me being a beauty lover/blogger myself, for me is looking at all of the beauty trends and trying to bring them into my everyday life and reporting...

Three Colors For Fall That You Need To Know.

Image
Happy Tuesday my fellow fashion lovers, I hope that you are having a great day and trying to navigate in these crazy times that we all are now living in. I'm always here for you if you need me and I hope that any of my blog posts are a welcomed distraction to you right now. Now I know what many of you are thinking, Why are you talking about Fall. We're just getting used to Spring and Summer is right around the corner. While I was reading the May issue of Elle Magazine, I noticed that three colors are going to be huge for the Fall/Winter 2020 runways Army Green, Bubblegum Pink, and Violet Army Green and Violet go so well but for me, Bubblegum Pink was a little of a wildcard but I started to love Pink. Fall Fashion is one of my favorite times to look at fashion and I can't wait to see more trends that Fall/Winter 2020 has in store for us fashionistas. I'm head over heels in LOVE with the Brandon Maxwell Fall/Winter 2020-21 Ready-To-Wear Collection, especially this Army Gr...

Wearing Trenches In Spring, Groundbreaking

Image
I hope that all of you fashion lovers had a great day in "The New Normal" that we are all still trying to adjust to. I couldn't wait to get back to you all and talk about the latest trends in fashion that all of you need to know and some trends that you need to stay away. A trench coat is a perfect transitional piece in your Spring/Summer closet because sometimes, it's can be cold in the morning, but warm during the day. I was reading the May issue that trench coats with traditional and fresh twists such as cut-outs and structure have been such a hit with the paparazzi and the style stars that are wearing them. I love to see a classic fashion item completely get an updated look and get reintroduced to us as something new again.  Gabrielle Union is one of my Style Icons, I absolutely love how she dresses in real life and on the red carpet. This is a Lanvin coat and the side cutout give this trench a little sexiness without going overboard. Ashley Benson looked spectacu...

All Dressed Up In Johanna Ortiz

Image
Happy Sunday to all of you fashion lovers, I hope that you all are doing well and taking care of you and the people that you hold dear to your heart. I find during this, fashion is such a unifying that we all can take about and talk about the trends that we all love and the trends that we hate. I hope that we all can come together and be kind to one together. Johanna Ortiz is one of my favorite underrated fashion designers. I first came to know about her when I saw her Spring/Summer 2017 Ready-To-Wear collection and I was obsessed ever since. Johanna Ortiz is a Colombian fashion designer born in California. She studied Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. After graduating with honors she returned to her homeland of Colombia and started her own couture label in 2009. Ortiz has become a fashion ambassador for Colombia, invited to show her collections in the White House in Washington and the United Nations in New York. Another thing that I love about her clothing and he...

I've Got A Bone To Pick With Fashion

Image
Happy Saturday everyone, I hope that you are doing well and trying your best to adjust to "The New Normal as much as you can. I know it seems that every day it seems uncertain what's going on right now, but if there's one thing that I learned is this we need to care about one another, check on our elderly family members, keep in touch with our family and friends, and keep our own mental health in check. I love you you all and we will get through this.  I've been seeing a lot of highly structured corset bodices on the red carpet as of late. A corset reminds so much of the 1800s were women wore them a more desirable shape, but I also found out that men wore them as well and the corset was used for medical reasons. I always wondered how women in the 1800s wore those things all day long and would not complain, I don't think I could survive that for an entire day. I love looking at Victorian-style clothing and every time that I look at the clothing, I feel that I got a ...

My Favorite Black Women Owned Beauty Brands: Juvia's Place

Image
Hello, Beauty Lovers, and Happy Thursday to you all. I hope that you are doing well and staying safe in the world. I can't wait to tell you all about the brands that I've been loving in the beauty world at the moment and some things that really have me thinking, Why are they are even beauty trends anyway. I've been a huge fan of Juvia's Place ever since they came out with the Nubian Palette, I came to know about them when I was reading an Essence Magazine a few years back and I love that they made eyeshadows that would look amazing on darker tones, like myself. Juvia’s Place was created to celebrate the rebels, rulers, and queens of the African kingdoms of long ago, who emulated and honored beauty through their soulful and innovative techniques. Juvia’s Place offers the richest, most vibrantly-pigmented essentials for the eyes, face, and lips and they are cruelty-free.  I've heard nothing but good things about the I Am Magic Foundation, it comes in 42 shades so no o...

My Favorite Underrated Fashion Designers: Milly

Image
Happy Wednesday Fashion Lovers, I hope that you all had a lovely day and was being safe and taking care of yourself and the people in your life. I really hope that my blog posts provide a needed escape from the craziness in our world at the moment. I will be honest with all of you, I was not a big Milly fan. I just didn't pay any attention to this brand until I was watching Videofashion News and they did a feature on them and as I was watching the episode, I found myself falling in love with every collection and every piece in the collection. Another thing that I love about Milly is that they combined an advanced contemporary fashion with a strong feminine point of view since its start in 2000. Milly has been worn by Kate Middleton, Beyonce, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Michelle Obama. This dress was worn by Former First Lady Michelle Obama in her official Presidental Portrait, it's from The Spring/Summer 2017 Ready-To-Wear Collection.  The Milly Fall/Winter 2014-15 Ready-To-Wear Colle...

Just Accenting My Breast

Image
Hello beautiful people and Happy Tuesday to you all. I hope that you all are doing well and taking care of yourselves and the people in your lives. Being here with you all has helped me through this crazy time that we live in at the moment and I hope that any of my blog posts have gotten you guys through this time as well. I've been seeing a lot of this trend all over the runways for Spring/Summer 2020, and that trend is Accenting Breasts. I remember seeing this trend on the YSL Spring/Summer 2020 Ready-To-Wear Collection and I saw this dress from their collection with this interesting detail on the breast part of the dress. As I read more fashion magazines, I saw that this was taking over the runways. Fashion is such a wonderful thing to look through and to be apart of. I love looking at trends and reporting them back to y'all. From Koche Spring/Summer 2020 show to Givenchy Spring/Summer 2020 show to Ralph And Russo Spring/Summer 2020 Haute Couture show (My personal favorite.)...

Is Everyone Over The Valentino Rockstud Sandals

Image
Happy Saturday Evening Everyone, I  hope that you all had a great day. In this time in our world, I hope that any of my blog posts provide you a distraction in your everyday life and I hope that it will lift your spirits. I know that these shoes have a love/hate relationship with the Valentino Rockstud Sandals. I remember when they first came out and every fashion girl had them in every color, fabric, leather you name it, they had them. Some fashion retailers made a dupe of them for a fraction of the asking price of $995.00. Then all of a sudden, they kinda fell off the face of the planet nobody ever talked about them again. I was having a conversation with my mother and I asked her if I would buy her a pair of Valentino Rockstud Sandals, would you be upset. The response from my mother was "I would GLAD if you brought them. A question popped in my mind, "Does anyone over the Valentino Rockstud Sandals". I feel that the 1,000,000 question. In fashion, I learned that trend...

On My Beauty Wishlist: The Urban Decay Honey Palette

Image
Happy Thursday Beauty Lovers, I hope that all of you are doing well and practicing some self-love and self-care during this time in our world at the moment. I couldn't wait to get back to you guys and talk about the latest and greatest in the beauty world and the latest flops that we need to know about before we make a purchase that we all might regret. As many of you know, I'm a big fan of Urban Decay Cosmetics ever since I could remember. I love them because of their packaging, the quality of their brushes, and the fact that they are a Vegan and Cruelty-free makeup brand. I'm still a little sad that they discontinued the original Naked palette ( I guess that they're forgiven for that beauty sin, Lol.) Back when I was in high school,  I could remember looking at The Urban Decay Cosmetics palettes and thinking to myself, One day I will have all of these gorgeous palettes in my ever-growing collection. Being a beauty lover and consumer, I want to be sure that the beauty ...

Beeking Up The Right Tree

Image
Happy Tuesday fashion lovers, I hope that you all are doing well today and staying safe in the world that we live in at the moment. I'm still trying to make sense of all of this myself, but I have a feeling that our best days are coming. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to start to wear sandals again. Don't get me wrong I love wearing boots in the Fall and Winter but wearing a great pair of sandals just does something to my soul. I get to show off my manicure and wear some great outfits along with the outfits that I came up with. Sandals are one thing that I have to have in my Spring/Summer wardrobe. I've recently come across a website that has some amazing sandals that need a home in my closet. I was browsing on the internet one night and this brand popped up on my timeline and I was interested in this website and I must say that I was impressed by the design and the quality of their sandals. Beek Shop is run by best friends Brigit and Kenna worked si...
