Black Woman Owned Business That You Need To Know About: Mischo Beauty

Image
Happy Thursday to ALL of my beauty lovers, I hope that you are doing well and wearing your favorite lipstick, eyeshadow palette, or perfume while being safe out there.  As many of you lovely people know, I'm a little obsessed with nail polish. I have at least 100 bottles and counting, and I feel no guilt at all. I know that the nail polish that I use has some ingredients that are not great for me, But I try to find nail polish brands that have clean ingredients that I know will benefit me in the long run.  I was reading an old issue of Essense Magazine and I saw this nail polish brand called Mischo Beauty and I loved the story behind the owner. The founder, Kitiya Mischo King, always enthusiastically envisioned her future as a beauty innovator, but her role as a pioneer in the world of clean luxury was a surprising and organic development. In 2013, Mischo Beauty was among the daring to revolutionize a highly-toxic beauty segment – nail lacquer – which has been notorious for formul

Black Owned Business: 84 Gem

Hello again Fashion Friends, I hope that all have enjoyed your day and staying as safe and healthy as possible. I'm hopeful that we are going to see better days in the near future.  As much as I love my simple jewelry, I do love a piece of statement jewelry once in a while. Statement Jewelry can add a lot to your outfit and I'll be honest, I wasn't the biggest fan of the idea at all but I wore a necklace with one of my outfits a few years ago and now I'm in love with Statement Jewelry. Since I turned 30, I'm trying to get out of my fashion rut and add things that I would never wear before, I feel that Fashion is something that I'm still learning about every day and I will be a student of Fashion for the rest of my life.  I was on the internet one day searching for Black-Owned jewelry brands and I saw that 84 Gem popped up, so I went on their website and I fell in love with the jewelry. 84Gem is ethnic, exotic, and regal. A combination of contemporary and African

New Beauty Brand: Uve Beauty

Image
Happy Thursday everyone, I hope that you all are having a great day and are staying as safe as possible in the world that we live in right now.  Our makeup routine has changed so much by using our beauty blenders, but I often wonder how much nastiness is in our beauty blenders after we use them. One day, I was on a website called Uve Beauty and I wanted to know more about this new beauty brand that has makeup brushes and beauty blenders that uses UV-C  also known as the most damaging to all organisms, including bacteria, microbes, and viruses. Scientists then figured out how to harness that power and use it scientifically.  While their mission is to bring a new level of hygiene to the cosmetics environment, their focus remains firmly on quality. Their products have gone through rigorous testing and trials to ensure that they perform and deliver the best results seen for any brush or blender on the market. The primary purpose of cosmetics is for beauty. They didn't forget that. It’

I'm Obsessed With Anima Iris

Hello again Fashion Lovers, I hope that your Tuesday is going well and you guys were safe as possible in the world that we all are living in right now. I was reading an issue of a fashion magazine and I saw this hnadbag that really interested me. but it slipped my mind and I totally forgot about it. Then over the weekend, I was reading the February issue of Instyle Magazine and I saw this handbag brand again and I was in love with this Black-Owned fashion brand.  Taking its name after Iris Tsamoh, Wilglory’s mother, and Sarah Yaa Anima Amoyaw, Wilglory’s closest childhood friend, Anima Iris is a modern brand that pulls inspiration and strength from the matriarchs of its past. Like the palm oil reds of Cameroon’s traditional Bamileke cloth, or the notable geometric shapes of Ghana’s kente, Africa’s bold history is reflected in the molds of their pieces. Every piece in the Anima Iris collection is carefully handcrafted by seasoned professionals in Dakar, Senegal. With centuries-old Afri

I'm A Prime Beauty

Hello again beauty friends, I hope that all of you are doing well and staying safe and well in the world that we are trying our best to understand and live in. I wanted to introduce y'all to a Black-Owned Makeup company that I came across while I was watching a YouTube video and she was talking about it. Prime Beauty Cosmetics is a brand created to remind women of color that our beauty needs are primary. Not secondary. Their goal is to create quality and affordable products that defy Eurocentric beauty standards, and uplifts the beauty that is being a woman of color.  This indie brand is a fun celebration of our beauty, our cultures, and all that we contribute to the world. We reinforce a message of self-love and pride for women that aren't typically shown such appreciation in our everyday society. I went on their website and the Make It Matte Liquid Lipsticks caught my eye, I love a great matte lipstick sometimes because I don't have to worry about messing up my clothes.

Of Course, I Love Vera.

Hello everyone, and Happy Tuesday to all of you fashion lovers, I hope that all of you are doing well and staying safe in the world as we know it right now.  As I said before, Lingerie is a form of Self Love and Self Care. I know for a lot of women the misconception of wearing lingerie is that they have to have a man to wear it for, well their misconception is wrong, wear it for yourself. Wear it while you are wearing sweats, wear it under your work suit, wear it just because it's Wednesday. Confidence is the best thing that you can wear  So one day, I was browsing on the internet and I saw a Black-Owned Lingerie Company Named Love, Vera and I saw that they cater to not only regular sizes but plus sizes as well.  The name stems from the love that Vera maintains for others and its limitless power as a problem solver, peacemaker, and unifier.  We proudly hire black talent to increase representation in fashion. That said, we are inclusive and work with people from many different backg

Happy Thursday my beautiful beauty lovers, I hope that all of you are doing well and trying some new beauty products while staying safe out there.  There are so many eyeshadow palettes that are being released by many makeup brands that, I barely can keep up with them all. But there's one eyeshadow palette that I want, I need, I have to have in my eyeshadow palette collection that I think that I think I will be satisfied with (For Now, LOL). Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands that are Vegan friendly, plus they have so many things that are on my wishlist and I hope that I can get them in the near future.  I was on the Tarte website one day, and I saw The Tarte Tartelette Juicy Palette, and I fell in love with all of the romantic neutrals that they have in this palette. It's a mix of 10 mattes, 4 pearlescent, and 6 metallic finishes, it's arranged in rows to create effortless, natural looks, the colored clays deliver maximum pigment & wear, mineral pigments soften

Happy Tuesday again, I know that you guys just read a blog post about Thousand Fell, But today, I felt generous and I decided to do an extra blog post for this Tuesday. Don't worry, a beauty post is still going live on Thursday.   During the time that we were under quarantine, I discovered a new jewelry brand that I've read about in the September issue of Instyle Magazine called Khiry.   Khiry Founder Jameel Mohammed began a career in design at the age of 16, interning for fashion designers Nicole Miller and Narciso Rodriguez while he was still in high school at The Phillips Exeter Academy. In 2013,, he enrolled at the University Of Pennsylvania to begin a Bachelor's degree in Political Science when a necklace that he designed caught the eye of the COO and Fashion Director of Barney's New York in 2014 He decided to focus on jewelry design and accepted an internship at the company where he got the in and outs of Merchandising and Retail Buying.  Khiry has a lot of amazi

Happy Tuesday my fashion friends. I hope that all of you are doing well and staying as safe as possible in the world that we all are trying to live in at the moment, I hope and pray that we will all have a better 2021.  I have a deep love for great, crisp white pair of White sneakers. They look great with a dress or a jean and t-shirt combination, they are a staple that I have to have in my closet at all time. But there is a new brand that really caught my eye and I want to introduce you guys to them. I was watching a video and this ad for a new shoe brand that I never heard of before, so I went on their website and fell in love with them at first sight.  Thousand Fell's name is rooted in our belief that a multiplicity of ideas and voices will effect change. In the past, fellmongers brought hides, materials, or “fell” to market. As we move forward, our vision is to create a new fell and, over time, a Thousand Fell library of modern sustainable textiles. They're on a mission to
