My Fall Closet Obsession: Velvet

Image
What's going on fashion lovers, I hope that you are having a great Tuesday staying safe and wearing a mask in the world that we live in now.  I was watching a stylist on a Youtube video and she said that Velvet was going to be a trend for Fall/Winter 2020. Now I know for many of you, velvet is mostly worn doing the holidays but why not wear it in the Fall as well. What is Velvet you lovely people ask, well let me tell you?  Velvet is a type of woven tufted fabric in which the cut threads are evenly distributed, with a short dense pile, giving it a distinctive soft feel. By extension, the word velvety means "smooth like velvet." Velvet can be made from either synthetic or natural fibers. Velvet is woven on a special loom that weaves two thicknesses of the material at the same time. The two pieces are then cut apart to create the pile effect, and the two lengths of fabric are wound on separate take-up rolls. This complicated process meant that velvet was expensive to make

Vegan Handbag Brand That You Need To Know About: LaBante London

Start off your new week with a new blog post. Happy Sunday to all of my fellow fashion lovers, I hope that you are enjoying your weekend while staying safe out there.  I really love finding all of these Vegan Handbags brands that are out there today. When I first started off as a fashion blogger, There was not a lot of Vegan Handbag brands out there on the market like it is now and I'm impressed with the quality of vegan leather more than the traditional leather that made from animal fur and other materials that are made from animals.  While I was on the internet, I was looking up vegan handbag companies to do a blog post about and I came across LaBante London, so I went on the website and I literally thought that I was on a high-priced designer handbag website. LaBante started out really small in 2012 but grew from strength to strength as we received so much positive feedback and love from vegans, vegetarians, animal lovers, and fashionistas all over the world. As we continued to

Beauty Brand That You Need To Know About: Uma Oils

Image
Happy Thursday to all of you that is reading this blog post, I hope that all of you are doing well and staying safe in the world that we are living in at the moment. It's truly an honor to be back here with you all again to share with you my love for beauty products and new beauty brands that I came across while I was reading an article in a magazine or on a blog post.  I'm not the type of girl that uses oils right before I go to bed, I feel that they will make me as if I'm going to slip off my bed. So I just stayed away from them altogether, my skin is very sensitive and some oils use synthetic fragrances and they would irritate my skin but I think I may have found an oil that I can mix with my lotion and I'll be fine and my skin won't regret it.    As I was reading the September issue of Harper's Bazaar Magazine, I was reading about the brand Uma Oils and I haven't heard of them before, so I decided to check this brand out for myself for this blog post.  Happy Tuesday to all of my fashion lovers out there, I hope that all of you are doing well and staying safe out there in the world right now.  I missed doing blog posts about black-owned fashion brands that I think that all of you would love to add to your closet (Me included) I love finding new brands that I can look into and tell you guys their story through my blog. Being a fashion blogger is truly the best job in the world because I get to talk to like-minded people who love fashion as much as I do, I'm truly blessed to do this as my job even though I'm not getting paid for it yet.  A few years back, I was reading an issue of Essence Magazine and I noticed a handbag brand that I've never heard of before. Vavvoune was founded by self-taught designer/artisan Valerie Blaise, in Brooklyn New York. Vavvoune (pronounced vav•une) is a leather accessory brand recognized by way of cultured design. Introducing passionately made, wearable leather accessories, while hinting spunk

We have only a few more days until Fall and I'm pretty excited about it.  Happy Sunday to all of you, I hope that you all are enjoying this weekend and staying safe in the world that we're currently living in right now.  Feeling the cool air get me more excited for Fall, but when I looked at my weather app on my phone today and I noticed that it going to be in the '50s all this week and when I tell you that I got so excited for the cooler temperatures are coming makes was the highlight to my weekend. So I decided to do a blog post about one coat that is a classic and everyone should have in their closet for years to come, A Peacoat. A Pea coat are characterized by short length, broad lapels, double-breasted fronts, often large wooden, metal, or plastic buttons, and vertical or slash pockets. References to the pea-jacket appear in American newspapers at least as early as the 1720s, and modern renditions still maintain the original design and composition.  Abercombie And Fitc

On My Beauty Wishlist: Marc Jacobs Perfect

What is going on beauty lovers, I hope that all of you are doing well and staying safe in the current world that we all live in right now. I find that we do more great things if we all stick together during this crazy time in our world. If you have been following my blog, you guys know that Marc Jacobs is one of my favorite fashion designers. The fact that he designs fashions that he loves and doesn't care about what the critics have to say about him is truly inspiring to me as a fashion blogger. But when he came out with his own beauty line, I literally got excited. I love looking at his ads for his perfumes, they are so playful and girly and I want every single perfume that he's release, including Divine Decadence.   One day, I was reading one of my magazines and I noticed that Marc Jacobs released a new perfume so I opened up the sample and when I smelled it, I was in love. The perfume was inspired by Marc Jacobs’ mantra: “I am perfect as I am,” which is symbolized by a tat

One Of My Favorite Underrated Fashion Designers: Michael Costello

Image
Happy Tuesday fashion lovers, I hope that all of you are doing well and staying safe in this crazy world that we all live in right now. We are going to get through this time together, I know we will.  Michael Costello in my opinion is one of the most underrated fashion designers, ever. I remember seeing his designs on a fashion blogger and I was obsessed with his fashion ever since. Costello started designing clothes at the age of two by drawing dresses on his bedroom walls. At the age of 15, he opened his first store in Palm Springs. It was at his first store in Palm Springs where Costello started making custom pieces for celebrities including Céline Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Toni Braxton, Barry Manilow, Suzanne Somers, Faye Dunaway, Florence Henderson, and more. Costello made headlines for designing a matching hat and dress for Cardi B for Paris Fashion Week. Kylie Jenner as worn one of his dresses for her birthday magazine cover and Costello is good friends with Lady Gaga. Costello'

Fashion Trends That I Wish Would DIE In 2020

Image
I can't think of a better way to start your week off by having fashion involved.  Hello Fashion lovers and welcome back to my blog, I hope that all of you are doing well and being as safe as possible.  I love looking at the latest trends in some of my favorite fashion magazines such as Elle Magazine, Instyle, Harper's Bazaar, and of course Vogue. Trends have inspired all of us to experiment with our own style and see what works for us and our lifestyles. But, there're some trends in the fashion world that I really want to go away from our rearview windows FOREVER.  These three fashion trends are the bain of my fashion world and quite honest with y'all, I'm beyond over them. Some of our favorite fashion bloggers and influencers push these trends to the forefront in the fashion world and us as the consumer we tend to follow suit. I truly understand that we all are influenced by what we see in blogs and in magazines, but some trends in my opinion should stay as creativ

On My Beauty Wishlist: Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Mask

Image
Happy Thursday to all of my beauty lovers out there, I hope that all of you are doing well and staying safe out there and wearing a mask of course.  I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE a great face mask. I try to do a face mask at least once a week because I want to take care of my skin as much as possible. Having dry and sensitive skin has taught me to have a solid skincare routine, which includes a gentle cleanser, micellar water that is geared for my skin type, and a face and eye cream that has great ingredients in it.  I follow SkinCeuticals on Twitter and I noticed that they had a new mask that I've never seen before, so I went on their website and I wanted to know more about this new mask that they were showing to the world. The Phyto Corrective Mask contains highly-concentrated botanical extracts, a calming dipeptide, and hyaluronic acid to intensively soothe and replenish temporary skin reactivity. This intensive calming facial mask cools on contact, comforts skin

Fall Trends To Look Out For: Houndstooth

Image
Hello and Happy Tuesday fashion lovers, I hope that you all have enjoyed your three day weekend and were safe while doing so.  I was watching one of my favorite YouTuber Niki Sky and she was going over her favorite Fall Fashion Trends and one of her favorite trends was Houndstooth. Houndstooth is by far the most fashionable prints in fashion in the whole world and I'm absolutely HERE FOR IT. Houndstooth, hounds tooth check or hound's tooth. It's also known as dogs tooth, dogtooth, dog's tooth, or pied-de-poule, is a duotone textile pattern characterized by broken checks or abstract four-pointed shapes, often in black and white, although other colors are used. The classic houndstooth pattern is an example of a tessellation. A smaller-scale version of the pattern can be referred to as puppy tooth. The oldest known occurrence of houndstooth is the Gerum Cloak, a garment uncovered in a Swedish peat bog, dated to between 360 and 100 BC. Contemporary houndstooth checks may ha

My Fall Closet Must Have: Sweater Dress

Image
Can we all take a moment and appreciate that it's September and Fall is quickly approaching. I hope that all of you are having a great Sunday and enjoying the Fall weather that's coming to us all.  I went outside just before I did this blog post and I could feel the crispness of the Fall air so I immediately thought of things that I want and need in my Fall wardrobe. My Fall wardrobe consists of booties, boots, sweaters, scarfs, jeans, thicker coats, and sweater dresses. Sweater dresses are the one piece that every woman should have in their closets because it's incredibly chic to have. You can dress it up or down and you are always on-trend. I was reading the September issue of Instyle Magazine and I saw that sweater dresses are one of your closet must-haves for the Fall. I know for myself that I have at least 5 sweater dresses in my closet because if I'm in a time pinch, I know that I will be covered.  One day, I was on the Tobi website and I saw this sweater dress a

On My Beauty Wishlist: Besame Cosmetics Red Velvet Lipstick In 1946

Image
Hello again my fellow beauty lovers, I hope that all of you are doing well and wearing your favorite lipstick even though you are wearing a mask.  The color Red is so essential in both the fashion world and the beauty world. It such a bold and sexy color that will definitely get you noticed. I feel that it's my spirit color and I don't wear it as much as I need to, my mother looks absolutely gorgeous in the color Red and believe it or not, her favorite color was Pink at the time.  I don't know about you guys, but I haven't met a red lipstick that I didn't love and needed. Red lipstick is my first beauty memories when I saw a picture of Marilyn Monroe wearing it. Women should have a least one or several tubes of red lipstick in their beauty drawer and not all red lipstick are the same.  Besame Cosmetics is a Latina owned business that I found out about a few years while I was looking for another cosmetic company (A happy accident, indeed). Longing to bring back the
