I Need The Deodorant You're Wearing

Image
Hello beauty lovers, I hope that all of you had an amazing day and you stayed safe and wore your masks as you all are trying to adjust to the "New Normal" as much as you guys can. I find that true beauty comes from being kind to others and trying to see the good in all things. I've worn deodorant for most of my life, It gives me a confidence boost knowing that my underarms smell great (Nobody wants to hug you if you underarms smell like a freshly cut onion. But I didn't know that the deodorant that has my underarm smelling great was not doing great things for my body. First of all, it has synthetic fragrances, aluminum, and talc (YES the same chemical that is in our makeup) in there, I immediately started to look for a better and healthier alternative.  One night, I was watching QVC ( Fun Fact: I watch home shopping shows to dream of the things that I wished that would magically appear in my closet.) and the presenter was talking about a deodorant that has none of the

Fashion lovers, I'm so happy to be here with you all again on this Tuesday. I hope that you all are doing well and were safe as you were out and about today.  I love finding new fashion designers that I think that you all would enjoy, especially African American fashion designers. I felt so bad that I didn't dig deeper to find and learned more about amazing African American fashion designers when I first started my fashion blogging journey. I was reading an article about the designer, Hanifa and I decided to check her designs, and I tell y'all that I was loving every single piece that she designed. Founder Anifa Mvuemba launched Hanifa Clothing in 2012 after dropping out of a fashion program at Morgan State University. As a woman of color with a non-sample-sized body figure, Anifa saw an opportunity to design simple yet sexy and sophisticated clothing for women whose curvier bodies are often underrepresented in the fashion industry. Hanifa is a contemporary Ready-To-Wear a

Happy Sunday fashion lovers, I hope that you are doing well during well in the time that we are living right now. I'm so happy to be here with y'all and talk about the thing that brings me so much joy, fashion.  I've been a fan of the Fashion Label Cushnie Et Ochs or Cushnie as it known by now for the longest time. I saw one of her designs in an Essence Magazine that I was reading a few years ago and I was blown away by the tailoring and the designs of the collection that she presented. Cushnie is a luxury women’s ready-to-wear and bridal brand designed by Carly Cushnie. Established in 2008, the label was founded on the desire to serve the modern woman. Artfully crafted with clean, sculptural lines, the Cushnie collection is precisely tailored to achieve the perfect fit for the female form.   Defined by the balance of proportion, structure, and fluidity, the Cushnie aesthetic embodies a refined sense of cosmopolitan minimalism and femininity. The Cushnie Collection has been

Well we meet again beauty lovers and I'm glad about it, I hope that you all had an amazing day and you were safe while spreading love out in the world. The one thing I've learned during this time is that we need to love another and embrace our differences, that's what makes our world so wonderful. I have over 100 bottles of nail polish in my collection (and counting) and I don't think it going to stop anytime soon. I absolutely love nail polish from a very early age when I saw my mother's nail polish collection and just being in awe and so the love for nail polish began. As a nail polish lover, I feel that I need to support smaller nail polish brands, including black-owned nail polish brands. I was on Harper's Bazaar website and I saw a nail polish brand that I never heard of before, as I went on their website I was impressed with the brand and what it stood for. I'm so glad to be back with you all again for another blog post. There's nothing that I love more is to talk to you all and talk things in the fashion world and trends that I'm loving at the moment and trends that I wish would go away. Now when I first heard of the whole "Vegan Leather" trend, I didn't understand it at all. I thought that it would not compare to the leather that we all know and love when it comes to our boots and our handbags. It would feel like plastic and cheap-looking, but boy I was wrong. I try to make a conscious effort to find out where does my handbag and where the materials that my handbag is made from, another thing that I love about vegan leather is more sustainable to our environment and our animal friends. I was so naive about vegan leather but now that I found about more about it, I need to buy a lot of vegan leather bags to add to my collection (Stella McCartney perhaps.)    This blog post is brought to you by a late night of str

How are my fashion lovers doing on this Sunday, I hope that you are doing well and staying safe in the world right now. It feels great to be here with you again and talk about the things in the Fashion world that I'm loving and hating at the moment.  I feel that we are all friends on here and I have been keeping a secret from you guys, the truth is, I have big feet. (5'3 with a Size 10 foot) I don't know why God gave the absolute LOVE for fashion but the feet of a giant. Growing up, all I wanted was to wear the latest stylish shoes but when the only option for me was the ugliest shoes that they had I felt as if I was alienated from all of my girlfriends with their pretty shoes. I have accepted the fact that I have big feet and I'm never going to be 5'11, I love myself and it took me a long time for me to get to this point in my life. Embrace all of your flaws and be the best person that you can be.  One day I was watching a YouTube video of a very fashionable woman

Latina Beauty Brands: Beautyblender

Image
Hello beauty lovers, I hope that all of you are doing well and giving yourself a little bit of self-love during this time right now. I missed y'all so much and I couldn't wait to get back here to you and talk about the latest beauty products and companies that I've been loving right now.  This is the first time that I featured a Latina Beauty Brand (Please forgive me y'all) on my blog I think that we all have a Beautyblender as a part of our daily morning routine for the longest time, I have been wanting one for the longest time to add to my make up bag. I have an older sister, (Nine Years to be exact.) and I noticed that as she was doing her makeup, I saw that she was putting her foundation on with an egg-shaped sponge, so after she left for work, I decided to look up the brand, and I was blown away with the founder's story. Founder Rea Ann Silva’s experience spans a 20-year journey as one of the most sought-after Hollywood makeup artists in the industry. As the cr

On My Fashion Wishlist: Valentino Lace Trench Coat.

Hello fashion lovers, It feels so good to be back here with you all. I hope that you are staying safe in the world and being kind to one another.  Now I know what many of you lovely people are thinking, why on earth are you talking about coats in the middle of July. (I get ready for Fall in July, I seriously have Fall fever.) But I think that you will agree with me about why I'm talking about coats in July. I saw the Valentino Spring/Summer 2020 Ready-To-Wear Collection or either the Haute Couture Collection (Don't quote me on that) and I saw that this stunning orange lace trench coat on the runway and when I tell y'all I was obsessed ever since I saw that trench coat. I could totally see Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O, or Marilyn Monroe wearing this trench coat in some of their movies in the '50s.  If I'm able to own this trench coat in my closet, I would let the coat be the focal point, wearing an all-black outfit and carry a little red bag to really set off the orange.

Hello, This Is My Friend, Laquan Smith.

Hello again fashion lovers, I hope that you are having a relaxing Sunday and staying safe out in our world right now. It's truly an honor to be on here with like-minded people talking about the thing that makes me happy the most, Fashion. There are so many dope African American fashion designers in the industry such as Tracy Reese, Cushnie, Fe Noel, Brother Vellies, LemLem, Stella Jean, and newer designers such as Heron Preston, Pyer Moss, and Christopher John Rodgers just to name a few. But what I found out about African American being represented in the fashion world really saddened and shocked me, Black designers only make 1% of. the fashion industry. Being a black fashion blogger and who trying to make this into my full-time job, I feel that we need more Black designers showing their collections at NYFW instead of hearing about them from word-of-mouth.  I feel that Laquan Smith is a designer that people constantly sleep on. Now his designs are for the shy girls, his designs are

I Take My Fashion Fruity

Hello lovelies, and Happy Tuesday to you all. I hope that you all are having a great day and staying positive and staying safe out there in the world. I couldn't wait to get back here to y'all and talk about the things in the Fashion World that have caught my attention. I've seen this trend for the longest time. During the Summertime, there's one thing that just screams fun and fabulous, and that is Fruity Fashion and Accessories. I find that this trend is so fun and stylish at the same time for the Summer. At first, I was not really feeling this trend at all, but as time went on, I started to try it out for myself. Fashion to me should be two things, classic mixed with a little trendy all at the same. I love how it can be a conversation piece and a great little touch to your white dress, a white jumpsuit, or a white button-up and cut off jean shorts. Summer fashion is all about enjoying yourself and the things that you wear, experiment with the things that you would ne

Happy Sunday to all of my fashion lovers, I hope that you're are staying safe, being there for each other, and spreading love to everyone in the world. Being a Fashion/Beauty Blogger, It's my job to spread you guys love and kind to you all, It the least thing I could for you all for being so supportive to me.  I used to wear oversized earrings a lot when I was growing up, I even had a pair of hoop earrings that were so huge, I thought it would tear my ear lobe in half (Keep in mind, I was maybe 18-19 years old and I thought I knew a lot about Fashion SIKE.) Then I starting wearing more dainty and ladylike jewelry and I knew this was the route that I was going doing for the rest of my life. One thing that I love about wearing dainty jewelry is that it goes well with everything, with jeans, dresses, and anything else in your wardrobe. Another thing that I love about dainty jewelry is that it is just so effortless.  I was watching a documentary about the coveted Blood Diamond from
