Trying To Get My NYE Outfit Ready

Image
Calling all fashion lovers all over the world, I'm so glad I can be here with you all again to talk to you guys about all of the fashion trends that I've been seeing and loving and some of the fashion trends that I'm loathing at the moment. I can't believe that 2019 is almost over and I don't have an NYE (New Year's Eve) outfit planned out. New Year's Fashion to me is over the top sequins, stylish suits and jumpsuits, and absolutely gorgeous dresses. New Year's Fashion reminds me so much of the Studio 54 days that I saw in pictures a long time ago. I love looking at some of my favorite Fashion Bloggers and flipping through my favorite fashion magazines to see what everyone is going to be wearing for NYE. For New Year's Eve, sequins are never too much. To me, sequins scream party and festive vibes. One day I was browsing Miss Circle and Shop Akira website and these blazer dresses are New Year's Eve approved. What I love about the Shop Aki

My Fashion Obsession: Combat Boots

Image
Happy Saturday everyone, I hope that you are doing well and you shopped your little hearts out on this Super Saturday. If there's one thing that every woman needs in their closet is the classic combat boots. I'll be completely honest with y'all, I was not into at all I thought that I was too prim and proper to wear them. But I grew up and my view on some fashion trends that I would roll my eyes to was such a great trend to follow and I kick myself in the butt for not realizing them sooner. What I love about Combat Boots is they are the epitome of the "rebel spirit" that we all have inside of us and let's be honest, all of us women do want to struggle with OTK Boots. Flipping through the January issue of Elle Magazine and they said that they were back in full force. I think that we all try to copy our favorite model-off-duty looks including their footwear. Fashion Jackson can style a garbage bag and I would be in awe. I love how she styled her Chanel c

To Dip My Nails Or To Not Dip My Nails

Hello, my fellow beauty lovers, I hope that you are doing well today and wearing your best perfume, your nails are polished and your winged eyeliner is perfect. I'm so happy that I can be here with you again and talk to you all about the latest and greatest in the beauty world. I don't know if you all heard about Dip power nails but this is something that I've never heard before until I saw my local news talk about this nail trend that everyone is now doing. This trend was the number 1 beauty trend to try in 2017, But I feel that the beauty just found out about this a few months ago. As many of you lovely people know that I love nail polish so much but I absolutely HATE the drying time and the risk of getting them nicked within seconds of polishing them. I was honestly was going to try this out for myself, but I read an article that changed my mind.  I've read an article on the Popsugar Beauty website that was talking about the Pros and Cons of this beauty tren

Pearls Are A Girl's Best Friend

Image
Happy Wednesday Fashion Lovers, I hope that you are had a great day and had the most fashionable clothes ever. I'm so happy to be here with you all to share all of the things in the fashion world that is really rocking my world lately and some of the things that I'm not feeling at all. I've been flipping through some of my favorite fashion magazines and I noticed that pearls are having a real moment in fashion. I know that for a lot of people that when they think of pearls, they are old, stuffy, and not that fashionable. But to me, pearls are the total opposite. Pearls are just the epitome of class, wealth, and it brings back memories of my grandmother. My mother has her pearls and every time she wears them with a gorgeous white dress, she looks like a total dream I even have a pair of faux pearl earrings that I wear with a shirt that has lace detail on the back. Pearls are a timeless piece of jewelry that will stand the test of time and maybe when I have a daughter of

My Fashion Toy Box

Image
I'm just playing with my Fashion toys, is that such a crime. Another trend that I seeing all over the Fashion world is the Toy Story trend.  From dollhouses to bags that look like Legos to teddy bears coats that literally has the teddy bear on the coat itself to even classic cartoon motifs. This trend literally brings me back to when I was a little girl playing with the same things and reading books in my room. My room was my happy place growing up, it allowed me to dream my biggest dreams and let my imagination run wild. If I knew that the Toy Story trend would be on-trend  I think I would have kept my dollhouse a little while longer. Babar was my favorite children's books ever so when I went on the Farfetch website, this dress literally took me back in time when I would read the books in my room when I was a little girl. And then I looked at the price, a hefty $1,566.00. They also have a short-sleeved version of the dress that is sold out on the website.   ht

Gothic, But Make It Fashion

Image
Happy Tuesday everyone, I hope that you are doing well and living your best life in your best outfit. I'm so glad that I can be back here with you guys and talk about my favorite F word, Fashion. I've recently had been looking into the Gothic style. When I was in high school, the gothic style was a lot different than what I saw in the hallway during "those lovely 6 hours".  Pants with carabiners, tons of pierces such as lip and gauges, heavy metal band t-shirts, shirts that had mesh, platform shoes, spiky hair, and lots of Black. I was reading about this trend in the December issue of Elle Magazine and I learned that Gothic was all of the runways but in a more grown-up and stylish way. The whole Gothic style has a moment in time and changed throughout the decades, an offshoot of punk back in the late 1970s and into the early 1980s. From safety pins to the neon mohair sweaters and a little bit of the 18th and 19th centuries that introduced us to the lace, cors

My Favorite Fashion Brands That Gives Back

Image
I know that it's just Monday, But I Love Fashion Blogging what can I say. I hope that you guys are doing well and wrapping your last minute Christmas shopping. I've been a fan of fashion companies that give back to their customers and to the world for as long as I can remember. Fashion has a bigger reach than we could ever imagine, sometimes I think we get so self-absorbed in ourselves to think about the many people that need our help. I feel that with this little platform that the good Lord has blessed me with to shed light on some brands that I love and some brands that I have found out about and I hope that you will love them as much as I do. I first to came to know about Feed Projects when I was reading through a fashion magazine that is no longer in publication and  I was intrigued to find out more about this fashion brand, I instantly fell in love with the message. Lauren Bush Lauren founded FEED in 2007 after seeing the reality of childhood hunger firsthand whil

Get Into This Red And Pink Combo.

Image
Happy Sunday everyone, I hope that you all are doing well today. Can you guys believe that Christmas is almost here it seems the older I get, the shorter the year get? I hope that you are ready to hear what I have to say about the latest and greatest in Fashion and the Fashion trends that I want/need to go away. As we all know, Colorblocking is always on-trend every season. What I love about this trend is that anything goes from floral print to different color combinations to shoes, I've even seen this trend in handbags and polka dots. Any way that you want to style this timeless trend you will be on-trend. Seeing this trend out in the Fashion world is such a great way to express themselves through color. Now we all know that Red and Pink is usually associated with Valentine's Day, but this color combination is really having a moment in Fashion at the moment.  I saw a lot of this color combination in the Brandon Maxwell Spring/Summer 2019 Ready-To-Wear Collection. I lo

I Get High On High Beauty

Two beauty-related blog posts in one day, I quite proud of myself. But I'm back here to tell you guys about a new skincare line that I think you guys should check out for yourselves. While I was on YouTube one night, an ad for a skincare line that I've never heard of before. So me being a noisy person by nature I decided to check them for myself. I love the layout of their website and the message of their skincare.  Melissa Jochim founded High Skincare with a commitment to skincare that is truly beneficial and healthy. After she looked into the skincare benefits that are in Cannabis Sativa, they knew that they had something great in front of them. Cannabis Sativa is one amazing thing that I didn't even know about Cannabis sativa seed oil is scientifically proven to have incredible benefits for the skin. Not only that, it is incredibly nutrient-dense, contains all twenty amino acids, and is a great source of essential fatty acids. With Melissa's formulating expertis

Tis The Season To Not Wear Christmas Eyebrows

Image
I hope that this Beauty Blog Post won't crack your contour. Hello Beauty Lovers, I'm so happy to be here with you all again to discuss with you the latest beauty trend that everyone is talking about and the beauty trends that I want to go away for a lifetime. Just when you thought that the absolutely ridiculous eyebrows trends (The Wiggly Eyebrows) couldn't get any more, I thought wrong. I was watching one of my favorite television shows, The Doctors, and I saw that "Christmas Eyebrows" was a trend. I couldn't believe this and I thought to myself that we were going through this beauty trend again.  Now I LOVE Christmas more than anyone, but to completely deck out my eyebrows to look like a Christmas ornament or a wreath, I don't have the time or the patience to go through this again. Why would you go out in public like that? Your eyebrows should be well kept and groomed regularly and besides, nobody has the time to get the glitter and eyeshadow

Why I Will Never Be Okay With Real Fur.

Image
Happy Tuesday everyone, I hope that you all are doing well and wearing your best coat for the world can see. I can't wait to tell you lovely people about some of the things in the Fashion World that I've been obsessed with and some Fashion trends that I'm not feeling at all. For a lot of people, A Real Fur Coat is the most coveted item that they want/need in their closet. It represents wealth, power, class, and all of the hard work that they had to do to get their Fur Coat. I've seen Fur Coats on '80s soap operas such as Dynasty where the fur coats were over the top and just screamed: "I'm Rich".  My mother has a real rabbit that she got for $300.00,  I remember my mother telling me how hard she worked to get that coat. I taught to myself as I touched this coat that my mother was so proud of, Does she know many rabbits had to die to give her this coat and from that day forward I became a fan of faux fur. Faux Fur is just as good as real fur and I

Don't Worry, Wear Platforms.

Image
Hello Fashion Friends, I hope that you are enjoying your weekend in the chicest outfit that you own. I can't wait to tell you what Fashion trends that I'm obsessed with at the moment.  The '70s have been in Fashion for the longest time, it's one of my favorite periods of fashion because of how everyone expressed themselves through their fashion choices and their hair. Fashion is such an expression of we are as people, every day that we are out in the world we are telling the world who we are by what we are wearing that's why I love fashion so much. I was reading the December issue of Elle Magazine and I saw that Platform shoes are a hot item in Fashion, (let's be honest platform shoes has always been in fashion) platform shoes and the '70s go together like sliver and gold. Platforms give you the height that everyone wished that they were blessed with. I also feel that Platforms are a seasonless shoe that will carry you throughout the seasons. Platfo

Make-Up Battle: Fingers Vs Sponge

Image
Happy Thursday fellow beauty lovers, I hope that you all had an amazing Thanksgiving last week and enjoy some time with all of your loved ones. I can't wait to tell all about all the things in the beauty world that as sparked my interest as of late. I was reading the December/January issue of Cosmopolitan and I saw that two women were in a battle of using your fingers to apply your make-up or using a sponge to apply your make-up. For a lot of women, using their fingers is easier to apply their make-up, especially their concealer. On the other hand, make-up sponges give the appearance of a beautiful airbrushed effect to their makeup. Me personally, I'm a pretty sponge girl. I don't like using my fingers to apply my makeup, I feel that your fingers have a lot of germs and I don't want to put that on my face or near my eyes, My beauty rule is this, Do what works for you. either way, your makeup is going to look flawless. The following two makeup sponges that I lov
