Batsheva Hay Is The Way.

Image
Hello again everyone, and Happy Sunday to you all. I hope that all of you are doing well and enjoying the holiday season as best as you can.  Keep this between you and me, but I sick and tired of seeing women wearing clothing that shows everything in such a slutty way. I guess since I turned thirty this has made me take a deep look at my own style and how I want the world and people to view me and the clothing I wear. You can still be sexy and fashionable without showing all of your bits off to the world.  I've read about Batsheva Hay in the September issue of Glamour Magazine and I really fell in love with her designs. In 2016 she visited a dressmaker to have a favorite vintage Laura Ashley dress remade and decided that she wanted to focus on fashion. She established her own label, Batsheva. In 2017, one of Hay's dresses was included in Vogue in their roundup called “How to Wear Fall’s Least Sexy Trends, from Clogs to Corduroys". In 2018, Hay was a finalist for the...

On My Beauty Wishlist: Coloured Raine Queen Of Hearts Eyeshadow Palette

Image
Happy Thursday to all of my beauty lovers, I can't believe that the year is almost over and I think that we all welcome it. 2020 has been crazy, but I have a feeling that we are going to have a great 2021 (What can I say, I'm an optimist.)  Coloured Raine was founded by Loraine R. Dowdy, a Caribbean woman, born and raised in Brooklyn, founded Coloured Raine in 2013. She left behind a very affluent career and followed her life’s dream of beginning a cosmetic line that encouraged self-expression and embraced broad racial diversity. Her goal was to create distinct cosmetics that broke all barriers in the beauty industry. Coloured Raine’s mission has always been to spread awareness of beauty diverseness and to embrace all shades of skin tones through a unity bound by cosmetics.  Loraine became the architect of Coloured Raine because of her deep love for beautiful vibrant colours and hues. She has always believed that makeup is just light-hearted, beautiful fun, and set here ...

On My Fashion Wishlist: Polly Studded Weejuns

Image
Happy Tuesday Fashion Lovers, I hope that all of you are having a great day and was as safe as possible in the world that we all are living in right now. I think all of us deserve a pat on the back for surviving 2020 and I feel that our best days are coming.  As of late, I have been wearing a lot of flats and loafers lately. Don't get me wrong, I love wearing my boots and booties but sometimes they are somewhat of a hassle to put on and all I want to do is to slide my feet in a stylish pair of flats. GH Bass is one of my favorite shoe brands because of the variety of shoes that they offer on their website.   So One day, I was on their website and I saw the Polly Studded Weejuns and I fell in love. I love snakeskin (I'm converted y'all.) and it pair perfectly with whites, cream, and grey this shoe will carry me through day and night, they also come in two other finishes as well. The price of this loafer is $110.00. I hope that I can have them in my wardrobe in the ne...

Gorjana And I Are Best Friends

Image
Happy Sunday everyone, I hope that all of you have had a great Sunday with your family and friends while being as safe as possible.  I feel so sorry that I slept on the whole danity jewelry for as long as I did. Gorjana has been on my wishlist for as long as I can remember. I love the dainty and simplicity of their jewelry that fits my style now, I first came to know about this brand while I was reading a fashion magazine in middle school and I saw a model was wearing a necklace and I was obsessed with them ever since.  In 2004, Gorjana and Jason Griffin Reidel followed an impulse and launched an eponymous, quintessentially Californian jewelry line. The driven and passionate duo combined their individual strengths to build the company from the ground up. They hit the road with samples in tow and drove a collective 50,000 miles to sell the first collection. Initial orders were fulfilled from their apartment floor and they worked the trade show circuit as a team of two. Wi...

Just Call Me Cocoa Shea.

Image
Well, I'm glad to be back with my favorite people in the world talking about my favorite thing in the world, beauty, and make-up. I hope that you had a great day and were as safe as possible in the world that we all are living in at the moment. During the Spring and Summer, I switch up from a thicker lotion to a thinner lotion because my skin needs to breathe and still be moisturized. I've used Queen Helene for as long as I could remember and it has helped my skin so much when I couldn't find anything that soothed my dry and sensitive skin. Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids, which is why it’s often touted for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity. The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over the skin to hold in moisture. Cocoa butter is also rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting against damage from the sun’s harmful UV rays. A com...

Have We All Gone A Little Birkin Crazy

Image
Hello everyone, and Happy Tuesday to you all. I hope that all of you had an amazing weekend with your friends and loved ones and was as safe as possible. I think that we all know that The Hermes Birkin is the Creme De La Creme of handbags. When I first started as a fashion blogger, I got on the Hermes Birkin bandwagon. I wanted to be apart of the elite club, I felt that I needed people to look at how wealthy I was ( I'm not wealthy at all.)  But it dawns on me, A designer bag doesn't define me as a person.  We live in a world where status and wealth are on full display at all times and quite honestly I'm tired of seeing it. I think to myself when I go on social media and I see the pictures that influencers, rappers, and socialities posting all of the designer items that they have, do you really live that way.  After I had a long look at myself, I realized that the Birkin bag is something that I do want and need. A Birkin bag does not define me as a fashion blogger o...

On My Beauty Wishlist: Alya Skin Pink Clay Mask

Image
Happy December beauty lovers, I hope that all of you are doing well and staying safe in the world that we are living in right now.  During the Fall and Wintertime, I'm a facial mask person. My skin is beyond dry and my eczema flares up a lot more than the Spring and Summertime so finding the right skincare that geared towards my skin is essential for me. I used a lot of skincare that I was not supposed to use and my skin hated me for that, using the right skincare for me has taught me to care for my skin evermore than I did as a teenager.  So one day, I was watching a Youtube video and an ad popped up from a skincare company that I never heard of called Alya Skin and they had a pink clay mask so I decided to check them out. The Alya Skin Pink Clay Mask contains Kaolin clay that removes toxins, pollutants, and nasties from your skin. Helps to remove pigmentation clusters from your skin's surface, as well as stimulate the regeneration of skin cells. It reduces sk...

Hello everyone, I missed you all so much and I hope that you all had an amazing Thanksgiving with your family and friends. During my week off, I found myself inspired by fashion by watching old episodes of Videofashion on the Tubi app on my phone and I found more appreciation for one of my favorite and underrated fashion designers, Jonathan Simkhai.  Established in 2010, the Jonathan Simkhai brand provides luxury ready-to-wear for the modern woman. The core aesthetic philosophy plays with the tension of feminine strength and sensuality; this is reflected in the employment of customized fabrics, romantic detailing, linear lines, and contoured silhouettes.  What is going on beauty lovers, I hope that all of you had a great day wearing your favorite lipstick and wearing your favorite perfume to get you through this crazy time in our world that we all are living in right now.  Having a hair mask in my hair care routine has been such a game-changer for me. Petit Kouraj, My New Obsession

Image
Hello everyone, and Happy Tuesday to you all. I hope that all of you had a great day and were safe as much as possible. In the times that we all live in, we all need to treat each other with kindness and love, but I think I was born a hippie, and still believe that be kind will get you very farther than being mean to each other. One day, I was reading the November issue of Instyle Magazine and I saw this handbag that intrigued my interest. So I went online to see more about this fashion brand and I'm in love with everything that I see and I want one in my closet for the Spring and Summer.  Petit Kouraj means "Little Courage in Haitian, (Such a beautiful meaning if I do say so myself.) Petit Kouraj is the creation of fashion stylist, Nasrin Jean-Baptiste. Born in London to Haitian immigrants, Jean-Baptiste amassed over a decade’s worth of experience as an international fashion stylist before creating Petit Kouraj. An innate desire to create something meaningful lead Jean-B...
