AAPI Fashion Designer That You Need To Know About: Son Jung Wan.

Greetings and happy Sunday to all of you fashion enthusiasts. I hope everyone is doing well and making an effort to savor the last few hours of their weekend. 

I wanted to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month with a longtime favorite designer. I was impressed by Monroe Steele's tailoring and the designs of her clothing when I watched her NYFW vlog, in which she attended one of Son Jung Wan's fashion shows.  

South Korea is where Son Jung Wan was born and reared. She attended design school at International Mode in Seoul after majoring in Industrial Craft at Sookmyung Women's University. In 1989, she opened a store after taking the trend into her own hands. The Galleria department store was directly across the street from the shop, which was housed in her home. Consequently, the department store made her an employment offer. Son's brand expanded rapidly, and in 1993, she received the Korea Fashion Editor Association's "Golden Needle Award." In 2005, Seoul Metropolitan named her Designer of the Year.

American celebrities like Brooke Shields, Arden Cho, and Keke Palmer have worn her attractive designs, as have Korean actors Kim Shin-rok, Yoo Sun, and Ji Hyun-woo. Son, who established her brand in Seoul in 2010, is renowned for her elegant designs that blend modern and Korean elements. She has experimented with bridal and evening wear over the years, as well as creating custom pieces for specific VIPs, such as famous clients.
